Stay Motivated To Get Things Done

Sometimes we either overthink the things that need to be done, or we just ignore them altogether. Either way, we cannot accomplish our goal(s) like this. I have learned that it is important to stay motivated, and reach out for help if need-be, so that tasks get done with as much ease as possible.

Proverbs 6:4 King James Version

Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.

“Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” – Benjamin Franklin

My ‘aha” moment for overthinking tasks came when I needed to remove some stickers from a piece of glassware. Unnecessary time passed prior to me looking up the “how to”, and when I finally did look it up, it only took me a few minutes to accomplish this easy task. I know what you might be thinking… “She is a silly procrastinator!” My answer to you would be “Yes I was! That is why I must stay motivated so that I do not overthink what has to be done and just do it!”

Music is a good motivator, it puts people in the right mood to do what needs to be done.

When I was younger, between the ages of 11-18 to be exact, I was blessed to be close to someone who loved cleaning the house. My stepmother is very tidy, she has always made her chores fun! She cleans her house with passion! She is from Puerto Rico, so as you can imagine, the Latin music fills the air way before the broom hits the floor. She would always dance around, singing along with the music on the radio, making her work exciting for herself and all of us as well.

I am happy to say that these good cleaning habits did rub off on me. If only she would have had to remove stickers from glass, then maybe I would have been more motivated to do that also. 😉  One of the songs that I fell in love with was this one below:

Even though I do not know everything that they are singing, I still am able to feel their passion! Hearing them put forth such effort makes me want to do the same! This song made my stepmother move back in the day too! I hope that you enjoy it and I hope that you find the push that you need to get things done quickly and easily!

How do you handle your mundane tasks? What motivates you to get moving?

I hope that this post finds you all well. If you have been here before… welcome back! Newcomers, I do hope to see you again so please subscribe if this post helped motivate you.

Christy 🙂

I confess, sometimes my motivation is above and beyond. And sometimes it takes about 3-5 cups of coffee (liquid motivation) to get me going… and when all else fails, the master motivator steps in and ultimately whips me into shape.. the wife.. 😒😆

Great post! I used to wait for “motivation”, but after researching on the topic, I found that “just doing it” works for me. You should read the “5 Second Rule,” by Mel Robbins (I wonder why I haven’t written a review on this yet) to find ways to be more effective.
