Say You Can and You Will

When a situation gets tough, I get tougher, or at least I try to anyways! There is a saying from a book that I read to my daughter so many times which repeates often in my mind when I need it to the most….

The Easy-to-Read Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper  “I think I can, I think I can… I thought I could, I thought I could!”

This phrase usually pops up in my mind during my runs, but it also plays in my mind for other things too. I like how something so simple keeps me going. It is sort of like that comercial with the…Imagini pentru energizer bunny

Why stop, right? If we need to finish something… let’s do it and get it DONE! Why stop something and then regret it later? Why slow down if we can maintain our pace?

There are days when we have to slow down, take a break, and do some different things altogether BUT that is not a good excuse for everyday. If we fall into that rut we will always say things like “I wish I would have…”, “I should have…” and more.

Break free from excuses and motivate yourself to do what you have to do.

Remember my LPs? I have found the prices for 1,089 already. I have approximetely 200 more that I cannot find, but I have tried, so that means that I researched nearly 1300 LPs in a week. Trust me, these images above danced in my head the entire time NON STOP! I felt like the freight train in Unstoppable, and now the real fun begins! LOL!

The secret to my madness you ask? Tell yourself you can and you will!

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.”

― Henry Ford

I hope that this gave you a push! Please let me know if it did, as well as what you think. I have learned that “feedback is my friend”, so I try to use it no matter how it comes so please don’t be shy. Be it positive or negative, it helps me grow.

If you are new to these parts and like what you’ve seen please stick around! Mondays will be as positive as possible! We all need a push to get our week started off great so I try to say what I think helps the most.

Christy 🙂

This was my favorite little book to refer to when I taught Spanish. Before each quiz or test, we started by saying, “Si, yo puedo!” (Yes, I can, in Spanish). It also helped me to get through physical therapy three times; after my knee replacement, when I broke my elbow and again after I had a stroke. I added, “I can do all things through God who strengthens me.” Then I was all set! Thank you for the reminder.

Hah I used to really like that little Energizer bunny. Haven’t seen him in years! I think it’s a hard balance to strike but you’re right, putting things off and having regrets isn’t good in the long run and sometimes a little push is needed. Love that quote, it’s a powerful one so good choice! =]

That Henry Ford quote is one of my favourite! We think so small of ourselves, we need to start thinking bigger. I had a little encounter with a little Chihuahua doggie on this topic and even wrote a blog about it. Lol. Thank you for sharing!
