Leftovers

Welcome to FoodTalk. After working for so long in the food industry I have a word that has never left my side…

Shelf Life- the length of time that a commodity may be stored without becoming unfit for use, consumption, or sale. (Wikipedia helped me out with this definition).

I hope that this image helps us to work through our leftovers. To further help here are some ideas…

  • Paninis are a great way to mix meats with sides and sauces by grilling them to taste amazing!
  • Sheppards Pie is one of those things that can be made all sorts of ways so… why not with leftovers right? Tasty has a quick and easy video that they put up after Thanksgiving – https://tasty.co/recipe/thanksgiving-leftovers-shepherd-s-pie
  • Donating to family, friends, neighbors, and those in need is also a great way to make use of leftovers. Why throw anything away when you can give it to someone else?

I hope that you all had a very Merry Christmas. I wish you all peace, precious moments, and God’s blessings now and always.

Christy 🙂

Giving out food/ dish swaps sound like a great idea. However, I always try to preach portion control – cook just a bit more than the expected eating amounts. I hate when people cook just in case a million starving people show up at their door. Then someone has to pack the leftovers, figure out where to store them, and let’s face it – most people won’t eat the same thing 3rd day in a row.

Thank you for reading and complimenting so nicely Ryan. Many of my food posts come from my previous restaurant experience. I am glad to see that you liked this one so you may like other posts on Wednesdays because that is the day I post about various food talk topics.
