Happy New Year!

I hope that this finds you all ready to welcome the new year with cheer! I wish you the very best today, tomorrow and all year through! God bless you!

What traditions do you participate in when welcoming the new year?

  • out with the old
  • fireworksπŸ’₯
  • champagne πŸ₯‚
  • watching the ball drop
  • special meals
  • praying for forgiveness for all of last year’s wrong doings
  • praying for future blessings

I have heard that in some cultures people wear an old outfit till nearly midnight and then switch to a new outfit (which is mostly made up of white) as a means to welcome the new year in a pure manner. Do any of you follow this tradition?

I have also heard of lighting candles πŸ•― to bring in the new year. Any of you follow this tradition?

What are your resolution(s)?

Just a heads up… I will not be posting and/or responding as much for the next few weeks because I am taking a short break. I will still be here to some degree, and I will also return to my normal schedule soon, but I will take a bit of a cool down period for now.

I light a bayberry candle in remembrance of those who have passed away in the old year and blow it out at midnight. My husband and I have grape juice together and we say a prayer for the New Year. Then, I fall back to sleep, because honestly, I can’t make it all the way to midnight, although my husband stays up each year.

    4. I like the old clothes/ new clothes.
    5. I was always taught to do all the laundry/ clean/ shower to have everything in perfect order, which sets it up for success in the new year.

My only resolution is to become a better person in the new year than I was in the past. This is always a standing resolution for me. This thing called life is a journey, not a destination. I always strive to be the best I can be, even if only by a small amount from year to year. Have a Happy, Healthy New Year.

Spent New Years Eve with my daughter and grandkids reminiscing on the past and discussing the future……..and I mean the future like artificial intelligence and whether robots will teach at schools. Happy New Year Christy, enjoy your break.
