We are God’s Heroes

I was called a hero today and I just wanted to share my thoughts.

First of all, I felt stand-offish by the remark because I have always viewed God as my hero and I don’t really view myself as one at all. Well, after the following words finally registered, I can see that many of us are actually heroes. We might not think of ourselves as such but we are. This ability to help others, this gift we have to inspire others, comes from God. So, if you’re like me (and I know many of you who are), please take this gift and use it.

Here are the kind words that I was told…

“The true hero is not the one who can beat everything but the one who understands the disasters of life and can still breathe.” – Author Unknown – Passed on to me from a student and friend.

This made me think. The things that I have been through, the stories I hold, are heroic? Yes! God gave them to me. I passed each episode and now it is up to me to share.

This goes for all of us. We all have our own stories. When we share we can help someone else face what they must go through with more hope. We may even be able to help others who may have otherwise been unable to cope.

I hope that this finds you all happy, well, and blessed!

God bless you!

I haven’t heard from you lately. I hope you are well. Your post reminds me of this verse:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 NIV Blessings, Christy!
